Climbing up on top of the Sokosti hill, 720 m, was the main target of Leena and Jukka in April 2004. The hill is located far away from hotels and skiing tracks inside the UKK Nature Protection Area in Lapland. You must carry in a back bag everything you need. You will find small cottages to spend the nights in distances of 10 - 20 km of each other. The scenery was breath taking on top of the Sokosti hill. In the picture Jukka is standing on the highest peak.
The weather was beautiful and there was no wind. We spent a whole day in the Sokosti hill watching the wonderful colors, the colors of the Finnish Flag. In the picture Leena is standing on the slope of the hill.
One evening we succeeded to see many reindeer following the leader reindeer. The leader was white colored.
